Condom Condom

BBC claims their “Condom a Capella” ringtone campaign was a huge hit in India.In the times where ring tones are enjoying a cult status ,it’s a innovative and effective idea to reach the masses.Since it’s release last month, they have already witnessed more than 2million downloads .They are expecting to make it even bigger.Yes, it’s a much needed campaign in a country like India where there are more than 2.5 million AIDS patients.

I have attached the commercials video below.The message of the commercial is “the one who understands is a winner”.Their previous campaign conveys the message “Pesuravanthan Pistha” in tamil ,which literally translates to “the one who speaks out is the real man” was also a good one.

To download their ring tone click here.Even though, i don’t fancy on ring tones this one easily became my latest tone.So ring me ,and i will see at least one person chuckle.LOL!

    Only after seeing your post, I understood that they are saying “condom”. My vocabulary and voice recognition are very bad ;-).

    I was reading on this http://www.iol.co.za/index.php?click_id=79&art_id=iol1221200549416C535&set_id=1
    As they say, this campaign will reduce the hesistation in talking about it. Some weak vocabulary people will intend to know about it.

    I remember the “Pulli Raja” compaign. It was the first compaign I have seen which ended by asking question.

    There is nothing surprising when you appreciate this, “the one who speaks out is the real man”. Anyway if everyone wanted to be “pista” then who is gonna be listener ??!!

    @thillai:
    We will discuss about who is listener in a different post,the intention of the campaign is to break the myths of the Indian people about sex.As we are one of the shyest people on earth to talk about sex,but not hesitant on doing that(population growth and number of hiv’s gives you a good picture),its good to encourage people who talks about sex with others.Yeah the ‘pulli raja’ campaign was a great one,but that was banned by some women groups due to it’s portrayal of women as the main source of HIV.Hoping to see a good change in the public attitude.
